Black coffee by Agatha Christie

Originally written as a stage play, this story brings Hercule Poirot into a tense mystery involving stolen scientific secrets and sudden murder. The confined setting creates a sense of urgency, with suspicion falling on multiple guests trapped together. Christie’s dialogue driven style works especially well here, giving the story a theatrical energy. Poirot’s calm intelligence gradually untangles motives hidden beneath polite conversation. Although shorter and more straightforward than some of Christie’s novels, it remains entertaining because of its sharp pacing and classic whodunit structure.
